Marty and Ooah respect their fans and listened to feedback on The Sauce and gave us four dance floor bangers with The Superior EP. These songs will get a party moving and will most likely make a lot of those fans who were disappointed with The Sauce very happy. Does that mean PANTyRAiD now deserves to be called sellouts? No. It means they put out another release that is going to be a best seller just like the first one. If you happen to dislike it, don’t worry. I’m sure there is something out there that you will like. Everything is going to be ok.

Phutureprimitive- Kinetik
March 22, 2011
The songs of Kinetic are made up of sultry synth lines, glitched rhythms, deep low wobbling bass, and cascading crescendos of texture that evokes visions of utopia in my minds eye. This album tells me a story of hope and joy- it is a soundtrack for a generation of inspired people coming together in the way that we do to try to make our dreams come true.
indaskyes- “If Only…”
March 15, 2011
indaskyes has uploaded several remixes to Soundcloud including his latest, his musical addition to the acappella by Gizella called “If Only”. His inspiration was the repeating phrase “If only we could change the world”. While protests and revolutions are happening in Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East, Indaskyes was motivated to make this track in hopes that “whoever ends up running the show doesn’t just talk freedom but actually delivers the openness and reforms that people everywhere are so hungry for.”
Stephan Jacobs- In The Vortex EP
March 6, 2011
New and old fans alike will be happy with In the Vortex EP where we hear the distinct sounds of Stephan Jacobs in a state even more evolved and complex than his several releases of 2010- Stephan has a way with bass! His countless hours spent in the studio perfecting his sound are apparent with each release showing Stephan reaching further into his artistic vision to create new musical beauty. I am happy to hear a release that sounds like it is made for musics sake and not just for the sake of gaining dancefloor play. It will get the dancefloor play but it will make people dance from the soul where the music was born from. This soulful nature is what makes Stephan Jacobs music stand out to me. If you can’t tell- I love this release! In the Vortex EP immediately makes my list of top releases of 2011.

I have a lot more time on the weekends to do blog posts and have been thinking about doing little blurbs and links to some of the music that has me captivated each week- new releases, old stuff revisited, upcoming or unreleased stuff… just a place for random music. This week Ben Samples put out [...]
