Alexander “Sasha” Shulgin is probably the most important chemist alive. In addition to rediscovering MDMA and popularizing its therapeutic use, he also synthesized hundreds of new psychoactive chemicals and – with his wife and companion Ann – chronicled their effects in the extraordinary detail of two legendary volumes, PIKHAL & TIKHAL.

I’m sure there is something out there that you will like. Everything is going to be ok.

The skillful combination of these makes his newest album Year of the Golden Tiger complicated and sophisticated in a way that surprised me because I hadn’t heard of Kaminanda before.

Phutureprimitive- Kinetik

The songs of Kinetic are made up of sultry synth lines, glitched rhythms, deep low wobbling bass, and cascading crescendos of texture that evokes visions of utopia in my minds eye. This album tells me a story of hope and joy- it is a soundtrack for a generation of inspired people coming together in the way that we do to try to make our dreams come true.
